It is Kabir's birthday on October 29 and that's when Divya Jain Tibrewal plans to launch Pet Prem, merchandise and accessories for mankind's best friend — dogs. Kabir is Divya's Golden Retriever whose birthday will also serve as the launch date for her new brand. Toys made from coconut fibre, crystal-cut food bowls, cute bow ties, doggie T-shirts, funky bandanas and quirky leashes are some of the fun stuff you can expect from Pet Prem.

I want to capture the Hyderabad market first as much as I can before venturing into other cities

But all this comes with one small catch. "I want to restrict this to my city and only to dogs for now," says the 24-year-old, who hopes to conquer the City of Nizams before she moves on to other cities. While her merchandise comes from Heads Up For Tails, a Delhi-based brand, Divya curates the inventory for Pet Prem herself and decides what works for the market here. The two clicked because the former was looking to expand his products, while she was looking to start something new. Speaking of which, the Villa Marie College graduate tells us how the lack of such merchandise in the Southern market (though she does concede that there are existing brands, though comparatively less in number, when it comes to the North) is the reason why she decided to start Pet Prem, apart from Kabir, of course.

And while Facebook and Instagram promotions are on with full gusto, full-fledged delivery will start after the launch. "I’m starting out on a very small scale," she tells us. But then we remind her about how everything starts small to which she simply smiles.
