CET Cell is set to announce the MHT CET CAP Round 3 seat allotment 2026 today, August 24, for candidates seeking admission to first-year engineering and technology programmes for the academic year 2026-27. Candidates can check their allotment on the official CAP portal using their login credentials.
Candidates allotted a seat from their first six preferences will have their allotment automatically frozen. Such candidates must accept the allotted seat by paying the prescribed seat acceptance fee through their login. They will not be eligible to seek betterment in subsequent CAP rounds.
This makes the order of the first six choices especially important. Candidates should not place a college or branch among these preferences unless they are genuinely prepared to accept it.
Candidates who receive a seat other than their first six preferences will have a choice. They can either: Freeze the seat and accept the allotted college and branch, or choose Not Freeze/Betterment if they want to participate in the subsequent CAP round for a possible upgrade.
Candidates opting for Not Freeze/Betterment must still accept the currently allotted seat and pay the seat acceptance fee within the prescribed deadline, i.e., August 28. The CET Cell's admission rules state that candidates seeking betterment must exercise this option carefully.
