Upgrading skills and having practical knowledge of the industry a student wishes to work in, has become all the more important after the COVID-19 pandemic hit. The sudden shift to all things digital has also brought to the fore the need to upskill ourselves. To help students become skilled professionals to meet industry demands and expectations, this institute in Mumbai is doing exactly that in the digital marketing learning space. Goal2Learn is an agency-styled digital marketing institute which solely focuses on practical education over theoretical knowledge to train young digital marketing enthusiasts. Founded by Jay Rathod, a digital marketeer himself in 2017, Goal2Learn has already benefitted over a thousand students with their courses.

Providing great opportunities is the motto of Goal2Learn, says the founder and advocating the Vocal for Local initiative by the prime minister, the institute is all set to empower the next generation of digital professionals to further the Digital India vision. "After the pandemic hit, practical knowledge about any subject has gained more emphasis. When two people are applying for a job — one with practical, hands-on industry skills will be preferred over freshers, who are right out of college but are all about theoretical knowledge. The main reason behind setting up such an institute was to provide an agency-style experience to students who will go on to join the digital marketing industry later on. They don't know the hands-on working of the agencies, no training institute really teaches them that. Practical experience is given the most importance at Goal2Learn, exactly the way we work for clients, coming up with strategies, the cycle of how the entire process works. This skill-based platform was founded with the sole intention of filling the void between industry requirements and honing the right skill," Jay tells us.

The institute offers short-term courses spanning two months and postgraduate diploma courses for a year following which placements, freelancing opportunities are also offered to students. The courses are all ISO certified and Start-up India certified, adds Jay. "We also provide entrepreneurial training to our students. The curriculum includes varied subjects and topics such as setting up a brand, setting up an agency, social media, writing skills, communication skills, Google analytics, brand reputation management, brand requisition and more. Industry experts and alumni come in to teach, agency partners also come in to teach students how to set up a digital marketing agency if they wish to be entrepreneurs themselves. All the courses offered by the institute are designed by industry professionals and as per the needs of corporates to meet the industry requirements based on new-age and advanced technologies. We also provide them with internship opportunities during the one year course," he explains.

Jay, who was always interested in becoming an entrepreneur, also runs a digital agency apart from founding Goal2Learn. "We have learnt a lot from the problems we faced, the experiences we had from our agency and then I applied in the courses we teach. Major career opportunities are currently cropping up in the digital marketing spectrum and we want to prepare the youngsters for that," concludes Jay.
