'Structure' should have been removed in 1947', atleast was done in 1992': Owner of Karnataka school that enacted the demolition of Babri Masjid

We have enacted a historical incident and not shouted slogans against any community, says Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat who is an RSS leader and the organisation's south-central region's executive member

The school children enacting a scene from Babri Masjid incident

The video of students studying in Karnataka’s Sri Rama Vidyakendra High School located in Dakshina Kannada enacting the destruction of the Babri Masjid has gone viral. Yesterday, the school had an Annual Day function in which this incident took place. DV Sadananda Gowda, Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilisers, Kiran Bedi Puducherry Governor, H Nagesh, Sashikala Jolle and other BJP ministers were present during the annual day.

The students studying in Class XI and XII were taught to enact this incident, probably because the school belongs to Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, who is a RSS leader and the organisation's south-central region's executive member. When we asked him the reason behind enacting this incident, he said, "Every year, we celebrate Annual Day in our school and there are a lot of historical events which we have enacted earlier. I don't consider it as a Masjid. It is only a structure. If it was a masjid then people should perform namaz or prayers. In the past 490 years, several incidents have happened in Ayodhya and we have enacted one of those incidents. This was a historical event and has to be told to the students. In one of the events that happened earlier, we had enacted the incident of Jallianwala Bagh where thousands of people were massacred. Children also acted the Udham Singh's incident who assassinated Michael O' Dwyer who was responsible for this incident. Similarly, we enacted the Chandrayaan-2 incident where Modi hugged K Sivan, ISRO chief and consoled him for failure in the project."

In the video, you can see over 100 students running towards the poster of Babri Masjid to destroy it by stamping on it. While the person who is narrating this incident shouts slogans including Bolo Bharat Mata Ki Jai, Bolo Ramachandra Ki Jai, Bolo Hanuman ki Jai and so on.

When we asked him if the students enacting this incident at a time when the country is battling polarisation, Bhat said, "Babur was a foreigner who came to India, destroyed the temple in Ayodhya and built a masjid. We should have removed this structure long back when India got independence in 1947. But we were cowards and did not remove it for the sake of vote bank. At least in December 1992, people came together and destroyed it. I don't think it is a big deal that we enacted this incident. We have not shouted any slogans against any religion. Why should people have a problem with this?"

Stating that he or his school doesn't have problems with the Muslim community, "We want people like APJ Abdul Kalam but we don't want terrorists like Kasab or anti-nationals. The next generation must know what happened in the past because such mistakes should not be repeated again. Some parties have made minorities as vote banks in the name of secularism. BJP or Modi don't care about the vote bank but only want national support," he says
