SSN College of Engineering conducted its Seventeenth Graduation for the batch of 2015-16 on 16th July 2017. A total of 1266 students were awarded their degrees at a function held at the SSN campus in OMR. Chief Guest Supriya Sule, MP and eminent Educationist felicitated the toppers with medals and degrees. R Srinivasan, Chairman, Kala Vijayakumar, President; S Salivahanan, Principal and B Srinivasan, Director, School of Management were also present during the proceedings.
The graduating batch comprised 136 University rank holders including three gold medalists from B.E/ B.tech and three from M.E / M.Tech, respectively. Three students from the Post Graduate programs - Sanjana Sahayaraj from Computer Science, Varsha S from Electronics and Communications, Jyostna for Chemical Engineering were awarded Gold medals for obtaining University first ranks.
While addressing the students, Supriya Sule said, “I take great pride in being here today to felicitate the students of SSN College of Engineering. The field of Engineering is all about innovation and engineers continuously strive to improve our lives for the better with the use of technology. The world around us is evolving at a rapid pace thanks to technological innovations, young minds like you should aim to contribute towards the betterment of our country.”
Expressing happiness ahead of the Graduation Day, Kala Vijaykumar, President, SSN College of Engineering, “The day marks the culmination of a rigorous and action-packed four years filled with learning, networking, growth and career progress and signifies a step forward for our graduating students. I am positive that our students will carry the learnings into their professional lives and enrich their workplaces with significant contributions and achievements.”
A total of 84 top organizations has offered placements to students from the graduating. Some of these include Amazon, SAP Labs, Global Analytics, Dow Chemicals, L&T, MuSigma, Cognizant, Infosys, Accenture, TCS, HCL, and Wipro. SSN has secured a placement record of more than 93% over the last 10 years. From the graduating batch, ~25% students are pursuing their higher education in renowned Universities like Harvard University, Cornell, Carnegie Mellon, Georgia Institute of Technology, Stanford University, Arizona State University and Florida International University.
