A series of trends are spotted every season, and with a blink, they disappear. Last month, I saw that Winklepickers boots were dominating, and this season, it's all about Creepers. Here is my quick update on recently spotted trends, thanks to the overwhelming number of Instagram bloggers. While the duration of the trend is not guaranteed, this may however, make your posts look good. So no harm in giving them a try and immortalising the look on your feed.

Athleisure

It's been roughly two years since athleisure as a fashion trend established itself globally. Wearing gym clothes and activewear to the work place showed a fundamental shift in how fashion is perceived today. Athleisure is here to stay. Celebrities played a monumental role in establishing this genre. When Beyonce released IVY PARK with TopShop, the brand’s Instagram engagement rate scaled by 50%. Similar results were seen with Rihanna’s Fenty X Puma and Kanye West’s Yeezy collection. The Kardashian’s popularised this look, especially the youngest member Kylie Jenner, who has over 99 million followers on Instagram, showing off her athleisure look in numerous posts while flaunting those enviable curves. Do not miss out on drawstrings trousers, a perfect blend of athleisure meeting oversized trousers.

Fusion Wear

The affinity towards fusion wear is rapidly growing, and this can be proved with the over -15,000 public posts on Instagram. When I checked this out a while back, hardly any posts were up. So now we have people wearing and flaunting the fusion look. Be it a ghagra paired with a crop top or palazzos with a dress, the fusion wear community is a growing subculture, and the trend is capable of going global. The quintessential saree dominates the ethnic wear market among women, and despite the introduction of western wear on e-commerce platforms, the drape is estimated to grow at a compound interest growth rate of 6% by 2025. The fast-fashion and the love for sarees has resulted in outstanding fusion invention such as saree pants, and a line-up of celebrities, including the ever-trendy Sonam Kapoor, have rocked the ensemble on Instagram as well as on red carpets.

Androgynous

It isn’t surprising to note that androgynous fashion continues to dominate the fashion world. It is indeed liberating to remove gender association from clothes, so cheers to pantsuits and button-up shirts that make Instagram posts fashionably legendary. A classic fedora with a bowtie or a neat blazer make for fashion staples. Even men are rocking pink velvet suits and fishnet shirts these days. Gender fluidity marks this era and deconstructs the notion of masculine and feminine wear, and Ranveer Singh is the epitome of pushing fashion boundaries. This trend gets a double tap from us each time.
