We all enjoy a good spa day, right girls? And you too boys, I know you agree with me. Well, our furry friends enjoy them too and pet grooming is now a booming industry. There are times when you schedule an appointment and take your pet to the groomers, but what if you don’t have enough time for that? With the Allvet Pet Clinic's Mobile Grooming and Pet Clinic van, the groomers are just a call away. It provides not just grooming services like a bath and a trim, but it also doubles as an ambulance and provides other medical services like ear cleaning, vaccinations and more. This blue van was recently inaugurated by Telugu actor Jagapati Babu earlier this month.

"We tried providing at-home services, but with the amount of hair that was left around the house, we decided to go for a van," says Dr Jasleen Kaur, who opened the Allvet Pet Clinic in February this year. Dr Jasleen's dog passed away when she was 14-years-old due to a kidney failure. This incident moved her and she decided to become a vet in a family of general doctors. "And my parents were completely supportive," says the Hyderabad-based vet, who has not only opened her own pet clinic, but also conducts seminars.

Nowadays, everyone is working, hence they may not find the time to take their pet to the vet. Our mobile grooming van makes it easier

While her clinic is located in Banjara Hills, the van offers its services within a 15 to 20 km radius of the clinic. Though the van carries 400 litres of water in an overhead tank with an additional two drums inside the van, the one problem they have been facing is running out of water, for which they sometimes needs to make a pitstop at the clinic. But aside from this, it's been a smooth ride as they easily get three to four appointments a day, among which the most common request is a bath. And the most common people who request the services of this van are senior citizens. The van comes with a groomer, an assistant and medical assistance (the latter is upon request).

But before they even started to design the van, the 27-year-old veterinarian visited Bengaluru and Mumbai to check out their pet grooming vans. And now that the van is up-and-running well, its services, which start at rupees 200, can also be availed of to take animals to other clinics. "If all goes well, we would like to open a branch in either Secunderabad or Gachibowli," she tells us.

One unique factor about the clinic is that it supports young talent. "Just because someone is young, it doesn't mean that they are not knowledgeable," she informs us, stating that their employees — from their front desk to their groomers — are of similar age. They even take care of the education expenses of some of the staff members. They also hold adoption drives and have a newsletter of their own.
