A waterless car wash that leaves your car as good as new, that is Exelinserv's promise

The waterless car wash services that Exelinserv offers is currently available in Bhubaneswar

So, did you buy that new car with your first pay cheque? Or finally got your hands on your father's old one? Be warned that owning a car is fine and dandy until those servicing and cleaning charges pile up. But if you are in Bhubaneswar, Exelinserv is a service that you should definitely try. And while they're at it, they do their bit for the environment too. 'How?' Isn't that the first question that popped into your head? It did for me. So, allow me to explain. Exelinserv offers a doorstep waterless car wash service. They use a dry wash technique where chemicals are used to clean your car. If you are thinking that the colour of your car will fade away, we must tell you that out of the 800 or so washes they've done since March 2017, they've only had happy customers. And don't even get me started on the number of repeat customers they have! If you are wondering how deep you will have to dig into your pockets to afford this different service, a car wash at Exelinserv will cost you just `350. Any more questions?

They have four teams — the core team, the customer support team, the vehicle cleaning team and the garage management team. Also, they have collaborated with more than 15 garages

Well, we had a few in mind, so we got in touch with Founder and CEO Debashis Nayak, who turns out to be a serial entrepreneur. His first start-up CoolHax Labs (2011) deals with third-party development services and IoT-based products and in 2017, he started Exelinserv. His third venture is Share-D Co-Working backed by his alma mater, Centurion University of Technology and Management. Coming back to Exelinserv, the 24-year-old tells us how they piloted it in Mysuru and Chandigarh first, but back then, it had more to do with car repair. They used to connect customers with garages but realised that trust is not very easy to earn. "We have an Hyundai Grand i10 at home and even today, when I take it out, my father asks me if I'll be careful with it. When my own father can ask me this, how can I expect a customer to blindly trust me?" he asks and then laughs. We laugh along until he describes the tedious journey of how they arrived at where they are now. He got in touch with a friend who was working on a formula for waterless car washing and after several trial-and-errors, they found what would work best for Exelinserv. "Of course, one of the major motivations came from the fact that we save a lot of water this way," says a happy Nayak.

Nine steps towards a clean car, as per Exelinserv
- The car is dusted from the top, with a dry microfibre
- The mats inside the car are removed and the space inside is vacuumed
- Dashboard, doors and seats are cleaned
- Mats are cleaned with DressX, a dresser, and placed back in the car
- Dashboard and interiors are polished with wax
- Extanea (dry wash) is sprayed on the exterior of the car and wiped cleaned
- Elixir (spray wax) is applied for shine and smoothness
- DressX is used on tyres and rims
- Exelate (perfume) is finally sprayed

"The car looks so brand new that it feels like it's fresh out of the showroom," is a compliment that the team is used to hearing by now. They have given demos at local cab services and other service stations as well and their future looks as bright and shiny as their cars. "We believe in 'seeing is believing' so please do try our waterless car wash services at least once," requests Nayak graciously. And someday perhaps, when we have a car of our own, we will too.
