Admit it, whether you're married or not, looking at those beautiful pre-wedding photos that your friends might have put up on social media, you're tempted to picture you and your other half in those photos, no matter how cheesy it sounds. These photos, where two entangled souls look deep into each other's eyes so that the camera's eye can capture their love, have been doing the rounds on social media and catching everybody's attention. But as we all know, love alone won't suffice. One must have a scenic (or you could go quirky) backdrop as well. And if you are in Hyderabad, consider yourself lucky because HashTagStudios at Shamirpet is giving you more than a scenery. This sprawling 20-acre outdoor photo studio not only customises sets, but also has cute permanent sets which serve as an ideal location for not just pre-wedding or post-wedding photoshoots, but corporate photoshoots and video shoots as well. And the brains behind this lucrative business idea is Rahul Anand.
The former RJ felt the need for this kind of space because, "usually, photoshoots happen at resorts, where bystanders start flocking around. This could get quite awkward," explains Anand, who also runs Eventure Events, an event management company. This thought excited him and it resulted in HashTag Studios, and within seven days, work began on the site. A team of 25 people worked day after day, for about two months, to convert a completely barren land into a swanky studio with walls that say 'You are my butter half' and colourful autos to shoot against. A team of ten manages everything from bookings to the small eponymous café which serves Maggi, coffee and more. "We did not want too many people to work there as it could prove to be a disturbance to others," says the alumnus of Guru Nanak Institute of Technology, Hyderabad. They also provide free tea and coffee to clients because, "Come on! We know how stressful it can be to get that perfect shot," he says, adding that they provide air-conditioned changing rooms and pleasant music playing in the background at all times.Have a specific set in mind? It's their special day and we don't want to ruin their experience," says Anand, who himself is going to tie the knot in November.
