Nadeem Akram and his team has already rebuilt 15 bikes in Bengaluru and made them look as good as new 

Are you bored of the way your bike looks, but are too broke to get another one? Then, Nadeem Akram's Full Throttle Customs, a bike design studio in Bengaluru, is just place for you! They help you get your bike redesigned according to your likes and specifications. It has only been a year and four months since its inception, but his team has redesigned 15 bikes till now.

Nadeem has always been fascinated about bikes and that's why he pursued Bachelors in Automobile Designing from DYPDC Center for Automotive Research and Studies. He interned for a year in a two-wheeler category with Mahindra and Mahindra and also got hands-on experience while working in a bike customisation studio called Nomad Motorcycles in Pune. He says, "Most of the lessons I have learnt is through experience. All the work that we do involves creativity and logic. While working on a design, we consider various factors of the bikes that might come into the picture - from assessing the usage of the motorcycle, the objective, the idea behind the customisation, exact requirements as well to the budget."

 Nadeem and his team craft a wide range of motorcycles like café racers, scrambler, bobber, off-roader and adventure bikes. According to him, demands vary from one person to another. While some people want to redesign the headlights in their bike, some want a change in the design of a seat and some also want a complete redesign. "Whenever the customers place their demands with us, we show them what is possible and what is not. Apart from this, I do a Photoshop render just to show how the bike will actually look after redesigning. Once they approve it, we fabricate the material, build it on their bike and deliver it. But we are constantly in touch with the customer. Some projects take a week and some take 15 days.  If there is too much work involved, it could take three weeks also. The designs used for each bike are never repeated. Though it can have a similar concept, we don't replicate the same models," he adds.

Nadeem claims that redesigning a Hero Honda Splendor to make it look like a Bobber bike is their best work so far."This was brought to us by a client who loved Bobbers and Cruisers. With an approved design from the client, which was inspired by modern-day Harleys, the frame and chassis were redesigned accordingly, and a dark theme and colour were applied. A rare colour like copper was used for highlights. The swingarm and wheels were modified too, for the fatter rear tyre along with the headlights," he explains

When we asked about the response for his work from people, he says, "Not many people know that bikes can be redesigned as per their needs. Hence this business is gradually picking up. When I started the firm in 2018, we would get only four bikes the whole year! But after people have got to know that bike designs can be customised, we have got many orders. In the last four months, we were able to work on 15 bikes and we hope to do well in future too."

Creativity at helm: Nadeem's dream was to work on Harley Davidson bikes 

It is every custom artist's dream to work on Harley Davidson bikes.  Recently, he redesigned Harley Davidson Street 750 by raising the tank and handle. They also added a backrest to the seat as per the requirement. A custom tail was given to this mean machine along with hazard and fog lights

Royal Enfield Classic 500was rebuilt to look like the Confederate Hellcat. The custom swing arm and fat wheels, redesigned tanks, a single-seat, and a bespoke paint gives the bike an aggressive look
