Travel bug bit Kavita Deshpande pretty young. It was something that she cherished during her childhood. Unsurprisingly, as the years passed, she managed to pass on the same enthusiasm to her kids as well. She remembers her son's first journey to Singapore where the six-year-old kept on posing questions about the country to his mother. He wanted to know everything from the country's capital to its national anthem. In the midst of googling the correct answer for her little one, an idea hit Kavita. Why not create a series of travel guides, diaries and scrapbooks for the little ones, so that they are well informed about the country they are visiting? That is how Little Travel Bug was born.

Through this series, Kavita produces a range of travel books for the little ones, keeping them informed about the country to which they are travelling. Also, there are spaces in the book for the child to stick their boarding pass and the country's currency. "These days, memories are preserved in digital format and children have limited access to them. Here, this is a souvenir for the child," says Kavita.

Right now these guides are available for Singapore, Thailand and Hong Kong. Kavita is planning to launch two new books for London and Dubai. "There are activities in the book too, to locate countries and do art and craft and to teach the children the history, geography and culture of a country in a fun way," she says. She also has travel diaries and scrapbooks too for the little globetrotters. "Parents usually ask their little ones to pen down their travel memories and stories. But they usually have very little idea about what to do. These diaries also act as a guide to practice diary writing," Kavita adds. These diaries have slots that ask the child to write down the new things they learned and tried, write a note on something adventurous that they'd done and so on.

These books have been on sale since 2015 and are priced between Rs 299 to 699.
