A post-graduate medical student in JIPMER here, who was tested positive for Coronavirus and in home isolation, was reported missing. According to police on Sunday, Ravindra Kumar (32) from Patna came to Puducherry a few months back for PG study in Jipmer.

He was accommodated in the JIMPER Doctor's quarters. Kumar after testing positive for COVID-19 was allowed to remain in isolation in his quarters. However, even after his quarantine period, he failed to report for classes and inquiries revealed that he was missing.

It is not immediately known when the PG medical student escaped from his quarters. Oulgret Thasildar Kumaran lodged a complaint with the D Nagar police on Saturday evening following which police registered a case and started searching for him. It may be noted that so far ten COVID positive patients were missing from their home quarantine and cases registered against them.
