A cardiologist from Tiruchy, Dr Senthilkumar Nallusamy, gave medical books and stethoscopes to government school students from the district that joined medical colleges through the 7.5% quota. He said that as many of the parents of these students were from humble backgrounds, they found it difficult to buy books. Hence, he decided to help the students out through his SenthilPrabha trust.

"When I spoke to the parents, I found out that they were daily wage workers and found it difficult to make ends meet. I wanted to motivate the students and encourage the parents too by giving them the books that'll be helpful in their MBBS," said Dr Senthil.

The Cardiologist also gave a motivational lecture to the budding doctors and gave them tips on how to study and utilize their time effectively on Monday. Earlier during the NEET exams, the doctor had arranged for free accommodation for the students who had come to Tiruchy to write their exams.
