The Hindu Cafe — a voluntary support group that has been reaching out to students online — is has made an open offer to help students who are being bullied for having an opinion that goes against the left organisations. A pamphlet by the group asks students to write an email to editor@thehinducafe.com, in case they face 'leftist bias or discrimination' in their colleges. "We can help them with books, mental strength or talk to them. We will not let them face any sort of mental trauma and protect them from anxiety," says the admin of the group's Facebook page, who calls himself 'a squirrel of Lord Ram'. Someone who believes in the freedom of speech, he says, "We just want to make sure that no one is bullied by the leftists for speaking the truth or having a different point of view."

Even though the group started its operations in Delhi in 2019, the admin tells us that their services are now open to students from colleges across India. He also says that until now, around 20-25 students have written to them, stating issues of bias and discrimination. "They face a lot of name-calling by hinduphobes, they are boycotted by liars. The worst, in many cases the faculty have given them really poor grades, instead of promoting merit," he says.

He also clarifies that the group's activities are all pro bono. "We are not doing this for money. This is a venture to defend truth and enable the student community to speak the truth. We want to promote facts instead of fiction on our campuses," he says. However, when we sought if the group also fights against the rising incidents of fake news circulation, the admin said, "We are taking initiatives to bust the fake propaganda taught in our books." Quoting an example, he adds, "Manusmriti, which was almost never a law of land, and certainly was not a governing law for the last eight hundred years, is ritually burned almost every month, but Fatawa-i-Alamgiri, which was a law of the land eight hundred years ago and reduced Hindus to animals, is not even known to Hindus today."

The admin also tells us that the group does not have any political affiliation. "Our ideology is only truth. We stand with whoever speaks it, be it the ABVP or the left parties," says the admin. Now if you think that the group's services are open only to the Hindus, you are wrong, or that is at least what the admin assures us. "Our services are open to any student from any community. They must be willing to speak the truth," he signs off.
