TN Selection Committee allows candidates who missed medical counselling due to cyclone to appear later

The counselling began with 1,222 MBBS seats in government medical colleges and 996 in self-financing medical colleges

The Selection Committee officials said that the students who cannot attend ongoing medical admissions counselling due to cyclone Burevi can attend it later and take the seat eligible for them. Speaking to Express, Selection Committee Secretary G Selvarajan said," Students who cannot attend the medical counselling due to cyclone burevi can attend next day or day after and take the seat."

However, till late evening the Selection Committee didn't release any notification on the same. It may be noted that the counselling was postponed due to cyclone Nivar and began from Monday at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium here. Meanwhile on Thursday the Selection Committee of Directorate of Medical Education allotted a total 418 MBBS and BDS seats at the ongoing medical admissions counselling on Thursday. According to the Selection Committee data, 450 people were called for the counselling on the day, among them 436 attended the counselling. Among them 363 MBBS seats in government medical colleges and 51 in self financing medical colleges were allotted. The Selection Committee also allotted four BDS seats on the day.

Two students were opted out and 14 were wait listed.The counselling began with 1,222 MBBS seats in government medical colleges and 996 in self-financing medical colleges. Meanwhile, it began with 150 BDS seats in government dental colleges and 985 in self-financing medical colleges.The counselling on Friday will commence with total 1,804 MBBS and 1,131 BDS seats.
