UoH elections: ASA-SFI-DSU-TSF alliance in lead for all posts, ABVP headed for drubbing

The University of Hyderabad Students Union election vote counting has begun and looks like the ASA-SFI-DSU-TSF alliance could sweep the polls this year. An absolute clean sweep. The ABVP-OBCF-SLVD alliance are coming in at second place but the margin between the two seems to be quite wide at this point.

According to the numbers so far, the President's post will most likely go to SFI candidate Abhishek Nandan who has so far managed to get 819 votes. The second runner-up is NSUI turned ABVP member, Phani Krishna who had managed to get 373  votes. The same parties reflect at the top for the Vice President's post as well — M Sree Charan has 694 votes and ABVP alliance's Leela Krishna has 366 votes. ASA's Gopi Swamy has so far managed to gain 750 votes, while ABVP alliance's Dhirendra Sahoo comes second with 400 votes. 

Rathod Pradeep from TSF has 750 votes followed by Kumar Ramavath with 416 votes. The ASA-SFI-DSU-TSF alliance Cultural Secretary candidate Priyanka Badrasetty has 665 votes so far while ABVP alliance's Reona Shinam has received 393 votes. AISA's Garvita Singh is a close third with 311 votes. The ASA-SFI-DSU-TSF alliance candidate for Sports Secretary Sohel Ahmed is also leading so far. 

Almost 70 percent of the students turned up for the voting on September 26 and the counting began this afternoon. The Election Commission does 45 rounds of counting of the student votes. So far 15 rounds have been completed, the final results are expected to be announced late this evening.   

The counting for the GSCASH and Councillors post is still underway.
