The first deadline to give feedback was June 30 but after activists and educationists protested, the deadline was extended it to July 31. Over one lakh feedback letters have already been received by the MHRD, sources have said.

According to Outlook, an official said, "Several parliamentarians had requested the minister to extend the deadline to submit feedback on education policy. The minister had also announced during the national conference on draft national education policy, organised by Prajapati Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwavidyalaya, that the deadline to provide feedback and suggestions will be further extended for two weeks."

From the three-language policy to the proposal to 'shut down' small schools, the NEP has received a lot of negative feedback. Concerns have been raised over the fact that it has not taken into consideration students from economically and socially weaker sections of society.
