Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday received a letter regarding state affairs from students of  Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam in Tirupati, urging him to do justice to Andhra Pradesh state. Writing their message on postcards, which they later sent to the PM, they voiced their discontent regarding false promises made to the state.

"Andhra Pradesh is suffering a lot for the undemocratic division of the state in the Parliament," read a message. At the time of division, the then Prime Minister and leaders of the Opposition made many promises to Andhra Pradesh promising that they would do everything for the development of the state but nothing has progressed to reality, they complained.

Instead of a Special Category Status, they had said the state would be granted a special package, capital development fund, funding for educational institutions, steel plant, railway, etc. zone but such promises were never implemented, they added.
