Who's the karate kid with a CGPA 10? Meet Aditi Hemachandra from Bengaluru

Devoting equal time to studies and Karate, this 16-year-old scored a CGPA of 10 in the CBSE class X examination

Aditi Hemachandra holds a second-degree black belt in Karate. This 16-year-old managed studies and practice efficiently and scored a CGPA 10 in this year’s CBSE exams, results of which were declared on Sunday.

Aditi says that she gave equal time for studies and her karate practice. She dedicated a few hours, at least two days a week to practice the martial art. Aditi is among those students who were able to manage studies and extra-curricular activities alike.

“Karate helped me focus better. It helps one improve concentration,” she adds. It is not just her but all in her family practice the martial art.

Aditi says that she was discouraged from taking private tutorials by her Karate master and hence sought guidance from teachers in her school only

“I began when I was in class five. Then on, there has been no looking back,” says this student from National Public School, Rajajinagar.

She believes that paying attention in class and completing homework on a regular basis helped her score high in the class 10 exams. She says that she was discouraged from taking private tutorials by her Karate master and hence sought guidance from teachers in her school only.

There were odds that this achiever had to battle. However, she decided not to give up. Her parents divorced when she was just nine. Then on, the family has seen peaks and valleys in their life.

“ It has been financially challenging for us. We do not even get alumni on time. It has been a struggle to run the show,” said her mother Hema.
