Online internship and training platform, Internshala, launched its third edition of 'Intern with Icon' on Tuesday. A week-long online event which will end on April 30, 2018 is designed in a way to help students across India get an opportunity to intern with eminent personalities.

Intern with Icon was launched in 2016 with an objective to provide students with a once in a lifetime opportunity to work and learn from their role models. Their previous two editions saw students applying for internship opportunities with Nandita Das, Rahul Ram, Bhaichung Bhutia and Gul Panag.

"Through this initiative, we hope to encourage the youth to follow their passion and help them learn directly from their role models. There is no dearth of talent in India, and we realised that if students can get mentorship from these icons, it would equip them with industry knowledge and soft skills," says Sarvesh Agrawal, the founder & CEO of the online platform.

This year's edition will see over 50 students intern with 15 professionals across diverse profiles. Some of the big names include Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Jayant Sinha and Global Vice President of Xiaomi and Managing Director of Xiaomi India, Manu Jain, to name a few.

The internship, which will be two-three months-long, will help the students to acquire job-specific skills from the experts while they learn essential life lessons. Interested students who wish to try their luck, will have to first apply online after which they will be required to appear for an interview, before being selected.
