A private college in the city that gained accolades for announcing to stop serving foreign soft drinks inside the college premises, has now come to the fray after a fabricated circular warns female students of being debarred if they imitate actor Priya Warrier's viral eye-wink. For the past two days, a fabricated circular copy of VLB Janakiammal College of Arts and Science says that faculty-members are complaining that certain female students are imitating the viral eye-wink in the classroom.

"We have installed CCTV cameras in all classrooms to monitor such activities. If the students are found guilty, the perpetrators will be debarred for one year," the circular read. However, after the circular went viral on the social media, there has been a furore, as well as several memes mocking the rule.

College principal N Rajkumar told this paper that the circular was fabricated. "Few Kerala students are coming to our college in the college bus. During their journey to the college, they used to play songs and dance. We had warned them to behave decently.  The fake circular has surfaced after this incident and so we suspect the role of those students," Rajkumar said.

The college management has also filed a complaint with the police seeking action against the culprits who fabricate the circular copy.
