A tri-language dictionary app was launched in Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh Assembly Deputy Speaker Dr Mandali Buddha Prasad launched a Digital Android Dictionary App, which is designed and developed in three languages, Telugu, English, and Hindi, at the Cultural Centre of Vijayawada and Amaravati here on Wednesday.

Addressing the gathering, Mandali Buddha Prasad said such efforts would enhance the life of the languages and the youngsters shall take up such innovative ideas.

"In the new era of technology, people forget about the existence of dictionaries and an old man bringing out a dictionary through an app must be appreciated. This is a true offering to the young generations from his side."

Peddi Sambasiva Rao, Author and developer of the Tri language dictionary said, "I have developed this dictionary with 16,000 words. There are more words in many dictionaries, but I want to bring in some selected ones. The basic words which would help a person lead their life. Soon I will bring out dictionaries in Urdu, Oriya and few other languages."

The programme was organised by Andhra Pradesh Creativity and Culture Commission. The app was developed by Lexicography Peddi Sambasiva Rao with the technical support of V. Phani Kumar.
