Here is Cuemath, a start-up that makes mathematics easy for students

Cuemath, a home-based, after-school learning program for mathematics has reached a milestone of 20,000 students. With an existing 400 centres in Bengaluru, they hope to set up 700 by the end of this year. Manan Khurma, Cuemath’s Founder and CEO, said, "This is an important milestone for us and it's only the beginning," speaking in Bengaluru on Tuesday.

Founded in 2013, the start-up offers a home-based, after-school, multi-format math learning program that brings together technology and personal teaching. Through a specifically designed curriculum and dedicated teachers across India, they believe in imparting a conceptual understanding and analytical thinking of the subject. “Most parents from Bengaluru come from an IT background. They find it significant to ensure that their child grasps mathematical concepts better. This is a trend particular to the city,” Khurma added.

The programme has seen an overwhelming response from the city, said Khurma. Cuemath has over 2,500 centres across 80 cities in India, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Pune and Hyderabad. Each Centre has only 6 to 8 students in a batch. The program also helps students assimilate concepts at their own pace, making them confident in the subject, one session at a time.

“Our vision is to create the thinkers and problem solvers of tomorrow. We believe this can be achieved through a robust foundation in mathematics by helping children learn mathematics the right way. We’re built on the idea that math is a life skill and therefore we want children to be math literate, not just learn it for an exam,” he added. Cuemath’s curriculum has been designed with a focus on mental aptitude and creative reasoning, along with school curriculum, according to the start-up.
