Looking for blood donors in the city? Fear not, one can find them through Trivandrum Indian Blood Bank app which which will be released on Swapp, which is a single platform launched some six months ago with a range of services.

Trivandrum Indian, the prominent social media chapter of Trivandrum, with an active offline community service through its NGO TRINDIA launched the blood donation app. If one needs to interact with the group and know about their services in Thiruvananthapuram, he or she can easily do it through the app hosted on Swapp. If you want to find out blood donors available in the city, you can easily find it via this mobile app.

A mobile app connecting users with a range of services, Swapp is built as a platform allowing users to access multiple business verticals. According to studies, a majority of apps is deleted within 90 days of installation mainly because of lack of engagement. But the efficiency of Swapp is the way it integrates multiple verticals. It is almost like a web browser; you want to go to a particular site, you click on the browser first.

Bhavani Srinu, co-founder of Swapp says, “We have been creating different apps for many organisations. We are also part of Trivandrum Indian and when they approached us with the idea, we decided to create one. The idea of this app is to make life easier for the people in Thiruvananthapuram, finding the right donors at the right time. You don’t need to download specific apps if you have Swapp as it enables you to access multiple points through the same digital platform.”

This mobile app will be a free-to-use, easily accessible application for any blood donor and those who would like to seek blood from such donors. This free-to-download app will help them register blood donors, store their data and contact information, so blood seekers will find it easy to search for donors, sorted according to one’s need and request for blood.

TRINDIA  has been conducting an array of activities including blood donation camps and maintaining an exhaustive list of blood donor volunteers in the city. “Every year we conduct various activities. We have held many blood donation camps too and we wanted to make blood donors more accessible. So we decided to launch a mobile app so that people can find blood donors during emergency situations,” said Rais R S, president of TRINDIA, NGO.

As a continuation of this initiative, a blood donation camp will be held at Mall of Travancore on April 13 between 9.30 am and 12.30 pm. The camp is expected to draw around 60 volunteer donors over three hours. The NGO has also partnered with a reputed blood bank Tejus which will provide medical facilities. Trivandrum Indian Blood Bank, hosted on Swapp platform, will be launched by the Thiruvananthapuram MP Shashi Tharoor in the presence of other eminent personalities and media.
